Easy pizza pull apart bread recipe made with biscuits, stuffed with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese and drizzled with a garlic butter parmesan sauce.
This recipe is so easy, I had my kids helping me stuff the pizza pockets and drizzle on that yummy garlic parmesan sauce! This is a fantastic recipe to bring to a party or gathering. It’s best served warm and with a pizza sauce for dipping!
If you regularly read my blog, you know I love Aldi products and love the way shopping there helps me save money on groceries. Plus I love their products. See my Instant Pot Tomato Soup recipe for a great example! Today, I’ve got a super awesome, cheesy appetizer great for any party or gathering! And I’m using products from Aldi, so you can save some money on this appetizer too!
For this Pizza Pull Apart Bread, we’re using biscuit dough and stuffing it with pepperoni and little pieces of string cheese. Super simple, right?
When you take the biscuits out of the can, you’ll have eight from each can (16 total).
Take a food scissor and cut each piece in half (now you’ll have 32 pieces).
This is where I get my kids involved in the Pizza Pull Apart Bread recipe, I have them organize all the pepperoni (2 slices of pepperoni and one cheese piece for each biscuit).
Kids are also super good at sealing the dough into a pocket around the pepperoni and cheese.
I use a jelly roll pan (this is a cookie sheet with edges) to assemble to Pizza Pull Apart Bread. I also put a piece of parchment paper down because sometimes cheese squeezes out during baking.
For the egg wash, I’m using one egg yolk with 1 TB of water, a trick one of my friends taught me when making pies! It gives a nice golden crust to the tops of this pizza pull apart bread.
Use a pastry brush to brush the tops with the egg wash. This is a perfect activity for the kids too!
Pop these into the oven!
Once baked they’ll be ready for the buttery garlic parmesan topping!
When I’m eating pizza, I love a bit of parmesan and red chili flakes. If you are not a pizza with a kick person, leave out the chili flakes, but if you like a slight spice add it in! I also like to add some dried parsley as a garnish too.
You could also add a little dry ranch dressing to the topping, if you love my Baked Ham Sandwiches recipe topping, you could use that buttery ranch topping here too!
Tucked inside these pizza pockets are mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. You could also add chopped olives, mushrooms, or other favorite pizza toppings!
Once you add the garlic parmesan sauce to this pizza pull apart bread you are ready to serve it! I like to serve it with a little bit of warmed pizza sauce! I hope you love this easy appetizer as much as my family did!
