Wild Rice Sloppy Joes

Ingredients
  • 4 TB Butter
  • 1 medium Sweet Onion (chopped)
  • ¾ cup Chopped Peppers
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic Salt
  • ¼ cup Brown Sugar
  • 1.5-2 cups cooked wild rice (I like Canoe canned cooked wild rice)
  • 2 lbs Ground Beef (85/15)
  • 28 ounces Crushed Tomatoes
  • 6 ounces Tomato Paste
  • 1 tsp Salt
Instructions
  1. In a French pot, over medium heat, sauté butter and onion. Once onion is soft, add peppers, smoked paprika, garlic salt, and brown sugar. Let simmer 5 minutes.
  2. Add cooked wild rice and ground beef to the pot. Stir to combine and then add crushed tomatoes and tomato paste.
  3. Replace lid on pot, and simmer for 30 minutes over medium heat.
  4. Once cooked, add salt.
  5. Serve with your favorite sandwich bun.
